End-Of-Life Care

Receive dignified care and support for you and your family.

Rest assured that your loved one receives comfort and compassionate care in the final stages of their life. Reflections at Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire is a distinct palliative care unit located on second floor.

To accommodate you and your loved one, features include private rooms comfortably furnished to accommodate visiting guests, wireless internet, family lounge with complimentary refreshments, and a family guest suite available at no charge for extended visits.

We focus on comfort and caring.

Our care team's goal for your loved one is to manage their symptoms, reduce pain, provide spiritual support, and ultimately improve quality of life. With a focus on caring, not curing, our end-of-life care treats the person rather than the disease.

Employees of Reflections receive advanced training in caring for terminally ill residents. In addition, our interdisciplinary team supports both residents and families with grief and bereavement counseling.

Start the admission process.

Residents in Reflections have a physician diagnosis of a terminal, life limiting illness with a prognosis of 12 months or less. An assessment is completed to determine eligibility for the palliative care unit. Prior to admission, we encourage you to begin completing advance directives, such as a living will, power of attorney for healthcare, and do not resuscitate (DNR) orders.

There are many ways to pay for your care.

Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire accepts insurance, private pay, Medicare, and Medicaid. Payment from ContinuUs and Veterans Administration is also accepted. During the assessment and admission process, payer sources and coverage details are verified.

Memorial services keep memories alive.

Memorial services are held every six months in our chapel for all of the residents who have passed away during that time. Family, friends, and staff are invited to attend these services as a way of continuing the healing process, gaining continued support, and keeping the memories of a loved one alive.

No One Dies Alone

Volunteer to be a companion, and offer support to those who are dying.

From time to time residents in nursing homes have neither family nor friends to be with them as they near the end of their life. Even when loved ones are able to be present, they may need to take an occasional break away.

Dove Fellows Program

This is an optional program designed to provide residents with the dignity they deserve during their last days. There are several options including, a dove figurine placed outside the door to signal to our staff it is time to say goodbye; a caregiver basket filled with helpful, comforting items; a bedside service after the resident has passed away; a treasure box to store sentimental items.

"Thank you so much for your care of George during the last month of his life. His list of 'favorite' caregivers grew daily."
—JD (daughter)
