Be part of the Eau Claire community.

Outings are scheduled to shop, go to a movie, eat at a favorite restaurant, attend a ball game, go to the fair, and visit a park. Our handicapped accessible vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts for your safety and convenience.

Benefit from music therapy.

Music has proven healing benefits. Improve your cognition, manage pain, reduce stress, and promote wellness with the help of music. Music is integrated in our programs through sing-a-longs, music games, rhythm bands, social groups, and one-to-one visits.

Play Nintendo Wii - it's easy to participate and adds an element of fun!

Nintendo Wii is an interactive gaming system that allows you to engage mentally and physically in common lifestyle activities such as bowling, tennis, golf, boxing, and baseball.

Pamper yourself at our Tender Touch Spa.

The Tender Touch Spa at Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire provides an opportunity for you to relax in a quiet environment. Decorated in soothing colors, the spa features a comfortable reclining chair, dim lighting, aromatherapy, and peaceful music. Receive foot baths, manicures, paraffin wax treatments, therapeutic touch, and soothing body wrap treatments.

Participate in a cross-generational activity.

The time devoted to cross-generational activities truly makes a difference in the lives of our residents, and it has a lasting, positive impact in the student's and children's lives too. Throughout the year we have students and daycares spend time with us, helping with activities and visiting with the residents. We value them as volunteers and friends.

Music and Memories

Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire was selected to participate in the Wisconsin Music & Memory Initiative, a program of Department of Health Services. The program provides the equipment and resources needed for 15 residents with dementia to experience personalized music. We successfully completed the Music and Memory Certification Training Program and now select residents have an iPod loaded with an individualized playlist from their past. The program is part of a research initiative, so staff record how each resident is impacted by listening to their personalized music playlist. Anticipated benefits include reduced reliance on anti-psychotic and anti-anxiety medications, reduced agitation and sun-downing, ease of personal cares, and positive engagement with others.

Resident Council

You have the opportunity to express your preferences, concerns, and opinions. Our staff is available everyday to meet with you. The monthly Resident Council and Nutritional Services Committee meetings are another opportunity to offer suggestions. The Resident Council is a self-governing committee with elected resident representatives. The council gives you the opportunity to participate in the affairs within our facility, make suggestions for improvements, and gain friendships.

Pets Welcome

Your family can bring in pets when they visit if they are supervised and well-behaved at all times. Vaccinations must be current. Pets provide a great therapeutic benefit, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about bringing a pet in for a visit.

Volunteer

Volunteers are very important to our Chippewa Valley nursing home. Your life will be enriched when you share experiences with our residents and create new memories. Become a volunteer.
